Why it costs more at the vet
Cardisure is a generic pimobendan made by Eurovet/Dechra. It is the same molecule as branded Vetmedin at substantially less than half the price. Many vets still default to the brand; ask explicitly for the generic.

Take the prescription to any VMD-approved online pharmacy listed above. We have a short guide with a template email you can send to your practice.

- Yes - same active ingredient at the same dose. The clinical effect is equivalent.
- Why didn't my vet offer the generic?
- Many practice formularies default to the brand. From 23 September 2026 vets must disclose cheaper alternatives. Ask explicitly for generic pimobendan on the prescription.
