Launching Q3 2026
Cats coming soon. Sign up to be notified.
Vet Bill Saver for cats launches in Q3 2026. Same VMD-approved UK online pharmacies, same CMA Order rights, same ~50% saving on chronic prescriptions. The cat side has its own subset of medications (hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes, anxiety) and its own calculator — but the core promise is the same.
Be among the first to know when we launch
One email at launch. Then nothing until you've told us which cat medications your cat is on. No spam, unsubscribe in one click.
Three numbers from the dog side that apply to cats too
- £21 + £12.50. The capped written prescription fee — £21 for the first medicine plus £12.50 per additional medicine on the same prescription. Same cap for cats as for dogs.
- ~50%. Typical saving when switching a chronic cat prescription from in-clinic dispensing to a VMD-approved online pharmacy. Larger for some medications, smaller for others — but in the same range as dogs.
- Six pharmacies. Animed Direct, Pet Drugs Online, VetUK, Hyperdrug, PetMeds, Chemist.co.uk all stock the most-prescribed cat medications and are listed on the VMD's approved internet retailers register.

Why we're starting with dogs, not both
Two reasons. First, dog medication pricing is where the CMA's investigation concentrated and where the consumer demand is — search volume for "Apoquel cost UK" alone dwarfs everything cat-side. Second, the cat formulary has different dynamics (more compounding, more crushed-into-food, more situational medication) and we want to build the right calculator for it rather than awkwardly retrofitting the dog one. Q3 2026 is the realistic ship date for cats done properly.
Owners with both species can use the dog side now and the cat side from Q3. Solensia (the cat osteoarthritis monoclonal) is already indexed on the dog side because of the search overlap with Librela.
FAQ
- When will cats be available?
- Q3 2026. We're targeting an early autumn launch with the same coverage as the dog side: every UK-authorised cat medication, every VMD-approved online pharmacy, per-weight calculator and CMA reform integration.
- How is this different from VetCost?
- VetCost is a price-comparison tool primarily oriented around vet practice cost benchmarking. We compare consumer-facing online pharmacy prices and tie them back to the CMA Order's prescription rights. Same underlying VMD register, different lens. Both useful for different reasons.
- Can I get notified about specific cat medications?
- Yes — once we launch the cat side. For now, sign up below and the first email you'll get is the launch announcement; the second will let you flag the specific medications your cat is on so we can email you when those drop in price.
Until the cat side launches, the dog calculator and full A–Z medication index are live. Same VMD-approved pharmacies, same CMA reform context.
